One of the great things about living in Houston, is the fact that we're so close to Austin. It's one of my favorite last minute mini-vacay destinations...
Where to stay:
Austin, TX - Hotel Saint Cecilia

This charming boutique hotel is by far our first choice of places to stay in Austin. If no rooms are available (there aren't very many) their sister hotel the Hotel San Jose is another good choice.
What to pack:
1.) I bring dresses that will go day to night (nights in Austin are extremely casual) in case we don't go back to the hotel to change for dinner.
2.) Cute but comfortable sandals or flats for walking/shopping.
3.) A couple of scarves and easy to pack accessories (nothing too glitzy).
4.) Running shoes for taking a walk/run around Town Lake.

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD RED LABEL Short dress

Burn-Out Halter Dress

To Do List:
1.) Walk/shop on South Congress stopping into Maya Star, By George, and Dress Shop among others.
2.) Get a mani/pedi at Embellish a unique, hip, girlie Austin nail boutique. I recommend making an appointment! Walk-ins usually get turned away.
3.) Go to Lambert's for some bar-b-que, Uchi or Uchiko for sushi, and I can't go to Austin without having brunch at Enoteca Vespaio. The pancakes are amazing.
4.) Try something new.. A new food truck I want to try but haven't yet is The Peached Tortilla...
